Coach Yvonne is a former world-class tennis player with 40+ years of teaching, coaching and competition experience. She is certified by the USPTA, PTR and WTA. Her development philosophy stretches beyond the tennis courts; motivating, inspiring and mentoring her players. She includes character building, sportsmanship, integrity, work ethic, discipline and team building to the program.
Coach Yvonne hold a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with her discipline in Youth, with a Minor in Political Science, from San Francisco State University.
Born and raised in Half Moon Bay, Coach Jeff brings enthusiasm and passion to tennis. He has worked for High Performance Tennis Academy since 2011 and has enjoyed great success with players of all ages. He has a Level 2 teaching certification with PTR. When he is not on the tennis courts he enjoys playing padel and basketball.
Coach Kostia grew up in Chornomorsk, Ukraine, and began playing tennis at 5 years old. He competed in FTU, TE, and ITF Futures tournaments.
He transfered to the University of the District of Columbia on a NCAA Division II tennis scholarship, playing #1 singles and doubles, earning multiple MVP awards. While at UDC, he studied Business Management and Public Administration. Prior to UDC, Coach Kostia studied at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University.
Coach Vivian is a former NorCal USTA junior player whose lifelong passion for tennis has shaped both her playing and coaching journey. She graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Economics, where she competed on the club tennis team for four years after injuries redirected her path.
After graduation, Coach Vivian spent three years at USTA Player Development in Lake Nona, FL, where she focused on creating training opportunities for the nation’s top juniors (15 and under).
Coach Vivian holds a RSPA Elite Professional Certification and currently serves on both the USTA Tennis on Campus National Committee and the USTA Northern California Coaches Commission Committee. She also works with the USTA Northern California Section, coaching at Early Development Camps (EDC) to support the next generation of players.
Outside of tennis, she enjoys attending live sports events and concerts—and never passes up a good matcha latte.
Coach Fred is a Bay Area native and passionate tennis player. He is certified with PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) Level 2 and GRSA (Global Racket Stringers Association) Certified Pro Stringer. He is still active in USTA Adult League and regularly participate in USTA Sectional events. Outside of HPI, he serves as a Tennis Instuctor for the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation at Stanford University.
Prior to joining HPI, he worked in the advertising and media industry for over 20 years. Coach Fred graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
Coach Fred is First Aid/AED/CPR certified.
